How do you know? Maybe he just didn't tell anyone!

It’s certain that he didn’t have schizophrenia.

Clearly, if he was hearing voices (and for schizophrenic it can occurs all day) then he wouldn’t be able to concentrate at school. He would have got very bad grades because schizophrenic can’t concentrate as they have hallucinations (voices, etc). Aslo, they have confused thinking which can make it difficult to speak in ways that others understand. Not Eric’s case. They can’t complete daily tasks. Mostly he wouldn’t have any friends because schizophrenic tends to stay alone and to avoid any social activities. Eric had a mid time job, had good grades, had friends, even girlfriends, seemed preppy (usually schizophrenic don’t take care of their appearance) and knew what he was doing. You can’t hide a mental illness such a schizophrenia. Clearly his parents or friends would have noticed that. Psychologists said Eric wasn’t schizo.

"Schizophrenia disrupts goal-directed activity, causing impairments in a person’s ability to take care of him or herself, work, and interact with others. Disorganized behavior."

Then, if he really heard voices, it could be anything but not schizophrenia. Hearing voices doesn’t mean you are schizophrenic.

Eric suffered from anxiety disorder, maybe had borderline personnality disorder and depression.

When he jocked about “it’s fun being schizopphrenic” he mainly talk about the fact that he can have multiples personnalities to fool people. But then again, it’s a common mistake people make, schizophrenia is not about having multiple personnalities. This disorder is called “dissociative disorder”.

Hope it helps.

What if eric was scizophrenic and the voices in his head told him to kill those kids?

ericharrisblog answered:

Probably, he had a mental illness for sure, but we don’t know what mental illness he had, but that is option actually

Eric surely had a borderline personality disorder but definitely NOT schizophrenia.

A schizophrenic wouldn’t plan a massacre for 2 years. There are many others symptoms that Eric doesn’t have. He was not psychotic (loose touch with reality). Neither was Dylan.

So I came upon this forum where you can find this guy who used to be a “tutor” of a freshman at columbine, whom was picked on by Eric and Dylan. Also, a girl, in the computer/video lab was called ugly by Eric and his friends.

Not nice, not nice…

I’m just here to ask, when will this bullying motive grow old? They may have been bullied, but they did a lot themselves. For example, there was this freshman I used to tutor, whom was picked on by Eric and Dylan along with his friends. He was short and weak, so he was a target for abuse. They used to call him and his friends “Gay” among other things. Also, I once was hanging out in the computer lab and Eric was there, and him and some other guy were calling this one girl “ugly” You should have seen the look on that poor girl’s face.

They also had a lot more friends than many other people had.
There were students who would hang their head low as they wandered around aimlessly by themselves. Eric and Dylan, although not popular, were well-liked by pretty much everyone, apart from the jocks who hated everyone who wasn’t a jock.

My friends and I were picked on. We used to hang out in the library just because we knew that it’s the last place we’d see them. Once, a friend of mine got ganged up after school and a jock beat him to the ground and broke his nose. Not much was done, which was extremely frustrating for all of us who wanted justice. And yet, he didn’t kill anyone. Many of us received hell all throughout high school, and yet we didn’t kill anyone.

Was browsing through the columbine documents when I found this. I don’t really know what to make of it. Testimony from Mike Connors, a free-lance reporter who had talked to Dylan Klebold through AOL messaging prior to 4-20-1999.

ummm For some reason, I have a hard time believing this…
First, why would Dylan send, to a guy he never met, yearbook pictures of him and Eric (how would he get Eric’s pictures ?).
Second, Dylan knew Eric hated homosexuals So he surely wouldn’t claim on the internet to a stranger that he’s lover with him.
Third, that guy never showed evidence of this conversation. Anyone could have said that to the FBI.
Then if it’s real, maybe Dylan was “playing” with this guy just to see his reaction ? I don’t know.
Here are answers of others people on here :

Well I do find it extremely interesting that one of his friends have stated that Dylan told him that he was questioning his sexuality. I wished I remembered who the friend was, but I don’t remember, all I do remember is reading about it a couple months ago. Also, two people who he talked to online reported saying that he was questioning his sexuality as well, again I read this information and haven’t seen it in a while. Mike Connors said that he talked to Dylan via email and Dylan told him that he was apparently bisexual and was dating Eric and that was all big lie that Mr. Connors made up, so if you read that in the 11k reports, do not believe it.
I don’t know if I believe this myth. Dylan never wrote about bisexuality or anything even close to romanticism of men in his journal, but that does not prove anything. Dylan was a teenager and most teenagers who are bisexual, homosexual, pansexual, asexual, etc. do not figure their sexuality out until their teenage years, so questioning ones sexuality in high school is extremely common.

according to his kinks he was probably just considering trying things with men for fun, as another kink. and took it as questioning his sexualality becaue at that time the world still wasnt too open, which wouldnt be suprising where they lived.

He was like a gay Brenda Parker. I believe he was just making up those stories. He lied to the cops to try and promote himself in some way then he wandered off to avoid getting in trouble when they were suspicious of him. (See pages 10438-10439 in the 11k for his report). There was never any indication that Connors showed evidence of chat logs or the photos he reported Dylan sent to Connors of himself and Eric. There was also no confirmation of any telephone call or chats.

Dylan wearing the glasses that he broke later in the future.

He didn’t broke his glasses but his sunglasses :)

Jamie Shofner (4,412) would occasionnaly walk around the school with Dylan. She recalled one day when she was with him and a few of his friends outside of the school at a designated smoking area. Dylan was given a test from an unknown magazine regarding normalcy. The test indicated that Dylan was normal. Jamie was surprised at the result. She stated she thought Dylan was strange because he always wore his sunglasses. Dylan told her he paid between 200 to 300 dollars for his sunglasses. One day, he was at school and seemed very depressed and he told her it was because he broke his sunglasses.
